Description: The Canada-Russia Northern Development Partnership Program (NORDEP) is a four-year program funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with counterpart funding from the Russian partners and managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC). Three target regions have been identified by the Canadian and Russian governments to participate in this program: Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and Khabarovski Krai. NORDEP supports northern policy reforms in Russia focused on improving governance systems and stimulating economic development. It aims to enhance the capacity of selected government agencies and civil society organizations and to strengthen and create partnerships between the two countries. There are four priority areas in NORDEP: youth programming, culture preservation and development, sustainable economic development, and entrepreneurship development.
