| Project duration: | November 1995 - March 2002 |
Project purpose:
The objective of the project was to strengthen efforts to improve and maintain the health of working women in Venezuela and throughout Latin America.
Key results to date:
The project trained four CEST professors, three of whom were women. Four CEST courses were modified. Scholars presented their work at six international conferences and directed the work of 54 students, 23 of whom did their research on women's work. Five books and a chapter in a sixth have been published and these publications will be used by community groups and in university programs. As a result of their work and research, graduates trained through the project are in a position to influence public policy development; the health knowledge of working women has been enhanced; and CEST has gained national and international recognition in this area.
