The University of Regina

The University of Regina is doing leading research in the areas of Energy and the Environment – including carbon dioxide capture and sequestration – Informatics, Health, Social Justice, and Culture and Heritage.

Earlier this year, the U of R announced a four-year partnership with the United Kingdom's largest integrated energy company, E.ON UK. The ITC, an established international leader in CO2 capture research, will work with the UK company to achieve cleaner fossil fuel power generation will reducing impacts on the environment.

Above, the Minister of National Revenue and of Western Economic Diversification, the Honourable Carol Skelton, is joined by University of Regina President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Robert Hawkins (right) and the Minister of Saskatchewan Industry and Resources, the Honourable Eric Cline (left), for a demonstration of the technology at the university’s International Test Centre for CO2 Capture.
