Founded in 1959, and located in Toronto, one of Canada’s largest and most multicultural cities, York boasts two city campuses: Keele and Glendon (York’s bilingual campus). Together the campuses are spread over 550 acres and accessible via public transit, vehicle, biking and walking. York has 28 research centres that continue to create new knowledge and mobilize that knowledge to improve our scientific, cultural and economic well-being. It is also a university that is fully engaged with the surrounding communities and neighbourhoods.
York offers more than 150 full- and part-time undergraduate programs and over 50 graduate degree programs to 55,000 students through 10 faculties. York is home to the Schulich School of Business, Canada’s Global Business School, ranked one of the top 10 MBA schools worldwide. Osgoode Hall Law School, Canada’s pre-eminent law school, is also one of York’s professional schools,
and is the largest and oldest common-law law school in the country. York is recognized for its leadership in liberal arts, business, law, environmental studies, education and fine arts and offers unique programs including Canada’s only Space Engineering program. York has one of the largest grad schools in Ontario, educating over 6,000 graduate students in master’s, doctoral and professional programs.
At York, student experience is a priority both inside and outside the classroom. With more than 280 partnerships with international universities, York encourages students to study abroad for a semester to enrich their student experience and global outlook. Students also benefit from opportunities for paid internships and in-class experiential learning. Every day York continues to challenge students to think beyond the ordinary and deliver the unexpected, while redefining the possible.
