Profil

The University of Prince Edward Island offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in a dynamic learning environment that supports teaching excellence and student success, delivered through four faculties: Arts, Science, Education, and Veterinary Medicine, and two schools: Business, and Nursing.

UPEI is located in Prince Edward Island’s capital, Charlottetown, a flourishing, culturally vibrant city of more than 32,000 people, and one of the safest cities in Canada. UPEI’s legacy of more than 200 years of history and architecture, its intimate setting, and its mixed rural/urban environment give it a distinctive character that combines rich tradition with leading-edge research and learning opportunities. The size and geographic location of the campus, and the meaningful opportunities it offers for professors to know their students personally, set UPEI apart, nationally and internationally.

A decade-long commitment to renewal has equipped the historic campus with impressive new research facilities, student residences, student centre, sports complex, and fitness centre. The most recent  additions include a “designed-for-success” facility for the School of Business and Centre for Life-long Learning, and a spacious new home for the School of Nursing and Applied Human Sciences programs.

UPEI boasts a rapidly-expanding selection of exceptional graduate programs, supported by the Office of Graduate Studies. The faculties of Science and Veterinary Medicine offer MSc, MVSc and PhD programs in disciplines related to animal and human health, biology and chemistry. The Faculty of Arts offers a unique interdisciplinary master of arts in island studies. The Faculty of Education offers two-year post-degree bachelor degrees with specializations in international and Aboriginal education, French immersion and human resources development; anMEd in leadership in learning, and a PhD in educational studies. The School of
Business, a recognized leader in business education with a focus on small business, offers an evidence-based executive MBA with specializations in biotechnology management, and entrepreneurship and innovative management. A collaborative master of applied health services research as well as a master of nursing with both a nurse practitioner and thesis stream are also offered.

UPEI has extended its impact well beyond its borders by establishing unique partnerships that contribute to a vibrant research agenda with exciting opportunities for undergraduate and graduate studies.
