Profil

Trinity Western University (TWU) is a comprehensive Christian liberal arts, sciences and professional studies university. TWU emphasizes excellence in academic scholarship, research and classroom engagement in a vibrant faith community in order to develop godly leaders who will serve the world’s deepest needs.

TWU is located in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley, 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver, and serves approximately 4,400 students annually. TWU offers 42 undergraduate degrees and 17 graduate degrees including business administration, nursing, interdisciplinary humanities (history, philosophy, English), leadership, theology, and counselling psychology. TWU’s adult degree completion program offers a bachelor in leadership for working adults. TWU also offers continuing education programs, online learning, and leadership development programs.

Trinity Western students acquire the thinking skills, expertise, professional abilities and character qualities essential for today’s global marketplace.

In addition to its Langley campus, TWU offers programs through its Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa (ON), TWU Bellingham campus in Bellingham (Washington), and Crow’s Nest Ecological Research Centre on Salt Spring Island (BC).

As a small Liberal Arts university, TWU provides opportunities for students that are not available at large institutions. These opportunities include participating with faculty members in funded research projects. TWU’s faculty have received numerous awards and grants from the Canada Research Council as well as private research grants.

TWU researchers conduct research on a range of social and health issues of concern to Canadians. TWU professors hold three Canada Research Chairs that illustrate the unique areas of expertise found at TWU. The Chair in Developmental Genetics and Disease is part of a growing program in biotechnology, focusing on areas such as cancer research and neurodegenerative disorders by studying cell signaling pathways. The Chair in Dead Sea Scrolls Studies highlights the world-class scholarly work being done in the areas of religion and Biblical studies. The Chair in Religion, Culture and Interpretation demonstrates the interdisciplinary approach of TWU, combining philosophy, theology and literature to investigate the impact of religion on cultural ethics.
