Profil

A bustling metropolitan university in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Saint Mary’s offers a full range of undergraduate programs in arts, commerce, education, and science as well as an expanding array of master’s and doctoral degrees and pre-professional programs in law, medicine, engineering, theology, dentistry and architecture.  Unique study abroad opportunities combine with undergraduate research positions and co-op placements to extend the experience of learning beyond the walls of the classroom.

Saint Mary’s Sobey School of Business trains its students to face the challenges of new global markets. The Faculty of Arts offers a comprehensive range of majors and minors including Asian studies, criminology and international development studies. The Faculty of Science includes an astrophysics major. The new, interdisciplinary Bachelor of Environmental Studies program challenges students to draw upon social science, humanities and natural sciences in studying complex environmental issues.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies offers 15 master’s programs across the Faculties of Arts, Commerce and Science, one graduate diploma program, and doctoral programs in business administration, astronomy and psychology. A national leader in workplace health and wellness, Saint Mary’s CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety has more than 20 graduate students and one of the largest collections of occupational health psychologists in a university setting in North America.

Steeped in tradition, Saint Mary’s is a compelling mix of fresh sea air, ivy-covered walls, iconic buildings and state-of-the art facilities like the award-winning Atrium and Global Learning Commons. Large enough to boast a nationally recognized capacity for research, Saint Mary’s is also small enough to instill a deep sense of community and support. The university is home to students from across Canada and from over 100 different countries, a combination of backgrounds that creates an exciting, diverse and international community in which to live and learn.
