Aboriginal languages

Courses offered - Practical Phonetics for First Nations Languages

- First Nations Language Immersion I and II (language to be named each time it is taught).
Introduction to First Nations Language I and II (based on a designated language and usually chosen from the Northwest coast area).

-Description and Analysis of a First Nations Language I and II (based on a designated language and usually chosen from the Northwest coast area).

- Topics in First Nations Language I and II.

- First Nations Language Mentoring I and II (intended for advanced learners of a particular First Nations language).

Aboriginal graduate student bursary for attending academic conferences.

Financial guidance

Staff from Financial Assistance & Awards work with both the Indigenous Student Centre and the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies to provide outreach, workshops and email updates on these topics. There is a designated Financial Assistance Staff member linked to the Indigenous Student Centre and has expedited appointment times for Aboriginal/Indigenous/First Nations students.
