Profile

Located in the heart of the University of Waterloo campus, St. Jerome’s University provides students with a closely-knit and intellectually stimulating community, while offering access to all the resources of a large university.

Taking courses across the campus, students pursue University of Waterloo bachelor of arts and bachelor of mathematics degrees. At St. Jerome’s, class sizes are kept small and professors are readily available to meet with students, providing a friendly and personal learning experience.

Founded in 1865, St. Jerome’s is a Roman Catholic institution which values its heritage of earnest intellectual inquiry and social responsibility. St. Jerome’s students combine academic pursuits with outreach to individuals in need, service organizations and social groups in the community beyond the campus. The university takes pride in the religious and cultural diversity of faculty, staff and students who strive to build a distinctive community where students grow intellectually, spiritually, and socially.

It includes preparatory courses on campus and a one-term international experience working in a region of the developing world. Each of these components count as credit towards their degree. Partner programs are in South America, Eastern Europe, Africa and South East Asia.

In addition to exchange programs offered by the University of Waterloo, in which many St. Jerome’s students participate, St. Jerome’s also has cooperative agreements with universities in Italy, Hungary, Mexico and Poland.
