Profile

King’s University College is a co-educational, liberal arts university college that is affiliated with The University of Western Ontario. Through its association with Western, students can enjoy the resources of a world-class university while belonging to a small community where classes are moderately sized and individual attention is a priority. King’s courses are taught by highly qualified and dedicated faculty and are supported by an excellent library. As an institution of the Roman Catholic Diocese of London, King’s emphasizes social justice and the value of each person. Students from all faiths and backgrounds are welcome as members of the college community.

Student facilities and services

Personal support services
King’s offers extensive personal, financial, career and spiritual counselling. The campus ministry team provides counselling and daily liturgy for Catholics and welcomes members of all faith traditions for support or direction to other local religious communities. King’s also offers comprehensive services for students with disabilities, residence life programming and safety on campus programs.

Academic support services
Chaplaincy, effective writing program, learning centre (offers economics, French, math, writing and ESL tutoring), small recital hall, services and support for First Nations students, international students and students with disabilities. First-year student programs
First-year program allows students to choose courses from at least two faculties. Other programs include a learning skills workshop series, individual academic counselling, academic peer guide program, off-campus peers program, orientation and residence-based transition programs.

Housing
On-campus: King’s houses 375 students, and residence is guaranteed for all first-year students. Double and single rooms are available in male-only and female-only residences. Residence fees include a meal plan, which is available to both on-campus and off-campus students. Annual cost: room including meal plan (three choices), $7,357 - $7,757.

Off-campus: Housing is readily accessible. Price range: $450 - $650/month per person, plus utilities.

Student assistance
Undergraduate: King’s entrance awards or scholarships are available to applicants with an 82 percent average or higher. Entrance scholarships range in value from $1,500 to $5,000, according to academic proficiency. There is an unlimited number of continuing scholarships valued at $1,000 - $2,000. The work/study program is another alternative for students. Approximately one-third of bursaries are granted to first-year students. In addition, larger scholarships include the Social Justice Scholarship, Bishop Sherlock Catholic Leadership Award, The Sisters of St. Joseph of London and Emmett and Loretta Regan Memorial scholarship. Approximately $200,000 is available for work/study salaries.

University research

King’s research plan reflects both the academic mission of the college as well as the diverse interests and expertise of its highly qualified faculty. International education

King’s is committed to internationalization. More than 10 percent of King’s students are international, coming from more than 30 countries. King’s offers a fully developed international student services program for these students including scholarships, bursaries and on-campus work opportunities. Canadian students interested in international education have a range of choices for both study and volunteer experience abroad. Students who study abroad are eligible for the International Study Award which provides financial support. King’s has a number of exchange agreements and participates in the comprehensive program of The University of Western Ontario. In addition, King’s cooperates with a number of organizations to encourage international experiences for its students.
