Public policy and advocacy:
We influence public policy by sharing expertise, information
and the perspectives of our members with government, industry
and community leaders. Our advocacy ensures that higher education
is recognized as vital to Canada's prosperity and quality of life
as a knowledge-based society and economy.
Our priorities include: improved funding for Canada's universities;
enhanced support for research; increased internationalization
of higher education in Canada; improved student assistance policies;
and intellectual property policies that allow university education
and scholarship to flourish.
Communications, research and information sharing:
We are the most trusted source of information on higher education
in Canada. We reach our audiences with timely and authoritative
publications and Web sites.
Our communications and research aim to:
- provide members with information they need on issues like
enrolment, tuition, funding levels and internationalization;
- equip government, business and community leaders with the
higher education information they need for decision-making;
- educate the public on all aspects of higher education -- universities,
academic programs, trends and opportunities.
Scholarships and international programs:
Our higher education expertise and strategic partnerships position
us to manage corporate scholarship programs, international development
programs and projects and international scholarships and exchange
programs.
Scholarship program management has been a core service of AUCC
for 40 years. We administer more than 150 scholarships and exchange
programs for companies and other organizations.
We are a reputable administrator of international development
projects and programs, drawing on experts from universities and
other partners. Our experience in international cooperation stems
from carrying out or overseeing more than 2,000 projects in many
sectors and on all continents.
