
Yves Beauchamp
Yves Beauchamp was appointed director general of the École de technologie supérieure in 2003 and reappointed for another five-year term in 2008.
Dr Beauchamp is a director on the board of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.
From 1999 to June 2003, he served as director of education and research at the École de technologie supérieure. From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Beauchamp was director of the department of mechanical engineering at ÉTS. He had joined the department in 1992 as a professor. From 1987 to 1992, Dr. Beauchamp had been a professor in the department of industrial engineering at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
Dr. Beauchamp’s expertise is in the areas of ergonomics, occupational safety and health and design of experiments. He has participated in joint research projects with IRSST and with colleagues from other Quebec universities. He has authored and co-authored over 100 articles in international scientific journals and many scientific and technical reports.
Dr. Beauchamp serves on a number of boards including the Board of Governors of the Université du Québec, the Conference of Rectors and Principals of Quebec Universities, the Committee of Deans of Engineering Faculties and Schools of Quebec, Inter-American Organization for Higher Education, Aéro Montréal, Technopôle Angus, Montreal’s applied research centre in information technologies, Montréal Museum of Archeology and History – Pointe à Callière and the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France).
Dr. Beauchamps holds a B.A. in industrial engineering and an M.A. in industrial safety and hygiene from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He has a Ph.D. in industrial engineering with a specialization in industrial ergonomics from West Virginia University.
